Christmas gift cards are a major revenue driver for Event Cinemas. But as my Mum likes to remind me each year, gift cards are also seen as a thoughtless gift – and Event’s plain, boring cards didn’t help.
So we set out to change them. Combining iconic movie motifs and playful, cinema-centric messaging, the new gift cards give customers choice in what they want to say to the recipient. Whether that’s some Love Actually for their partner, a cheeky Treat Yo Elf for the kids, or some Gold Class treatment for Mum.
While I can’t go into the numbers, the new gift cards were a raging success.
